Just erase the hero

(A review of Comix Zone)Cool, clever idea, but unfortunately I had a tough time getting past the first 2 levels. Alright, I'll be honest, the only way I beat it was to use game genie, for shame. But, I wanted to see where the game went and how it developed.
So if the bad guy is drawing what's happening, why doesn't he just draw a hole in the hero's head, or just erase his face? Because then the game would be over.
•clunky controls
•too hard
•clever concept

Squirtgun to the rescue!
Posted : 1 year, 8 months ago on 28 January 2007 11:30
(A review of Zombies Ate My Neighbors)This game had over 100 levels, and I doubt many people actually sat down and survived (or bothered) to go through all of them.
A silly little game where you can be a girl or guy with a variety of collected weapons to run around and save all the people before they get touched by any of the baddies. I do find it interesting that you can kill zombies, monsters, ghouls, and demons with a squirtgun.
•Repetitive
•No one in their right mind would try to play all the way through
•Cartoony and is fun for at least a little while

Kaboom!

(A review of Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal)You'd think the series couldn't get better as they went, but that'd be wrong. These games are a fun, silly adventure where you get attack by a zillion things at once and hope to come out alive in the middle of it. You've got some funky, but useful weapons that get cooler as the game progresses with your little robot buddy, and colorful and interesting levels to explore and blow up.
Try and play 1 and 2, and with this one, good luck collecting enough bolts and solving all the extras.
Talk about mayhem, there are numerous times in this game where you just hold down the fire button, spin around in a circle, and go; "Aaaaaaaaagh!"
Well, that's what I do.

(A review of Thief: The Dark Project)My bro got this game for me as a present and I had never heard of it. At first I wasn't crazy about it because I'm not big on 1st person shooters, I tend to get killed really quickly (that, and the motion sickness).
But, this was the first where you could take your time and had to hide and be quiet to get where you wanted to be. You can pick pockets, hide in the shadows, silence your footsteps on soft surfaces, and if I were you, I wouldn't try jumping out to take on a guard.
You can shoot from a distance, but you'd better make sure it's a head shot and kills them, or they're coming after you, and they've got friends...
A good game, nice atmosphere, good puzzles, and gets pretty challenging as the game goes on, making you think through your strategies.

Team up with Bowser

(A review of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)I know a lot of the fans don't really care for this Mario game (possibly due to the fact that it's an RPG), but I thought that it was a nice, different edition to both the Mario and RPG genre.
Fun little adventure where you have to team up with 2 other characters to save some star pieces. Colorful, neat graphics for the SNES, and I'll admit that I was pretty excited when I beat this with my cousin. Check it out.
Look for the curtain in the castle you can walk behind that turns you into "classic" Mario

Sliders

(A review of Sliders)I remember when this show first came out and I was psyched for the idea. This was something that everyone has thought about; "what if things had happened this way...?"
Nearly an infinite number of storylines, but I think they started to get stale after the first 2 seasons, which is why it gets an 8/10.
Still a lot of fun, and very clever.

They get paid for this!

(A review of MythBusters)C'mon, who wouldn't want this job?
They are trying out myths you want to know the answer to by doing things you've always wanted to try. They gang has a great dynamic, and different views on how they should try things out, who's idea are you going to go with?
But they are the experts, don't try this at home.

Destroy us all!

(A review of The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy)I'm sorry to say, this is not a kids show. But it is pretty funny.
I think I caught an episode by accident, and had a few laughs. It's very macabre, and one of the few cartoons that I wouldn't let my kids watch if I had any.
It's dark and pretty disgusting at times, and I think it might freak out some kids, but I get some laughs and can see that it does come out pretty clever. And at other times it's just ridiculous.
They do touch on things that we all dislike, like the clown episode (which is where the subject title comes from). Parallels movies, comics and current events that kids wouldn't get, which is why I like it.

(A review of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius)This is one of the few cgi shows that has stood the test of time. I like the gadgets and little adventures that Jimmy and his bizarre friends have. The cgi has definitely gotten better over the years, and while I see it doesn't have the highest rating on here, it's okay, it's one of my fav cartoons to watch when I can.
Simple, yet effective.

(A review of Good Eats)Definitely my favorite cooking show. Why? Because Alton gives us the science and facts behind many things, and I'm a sucker for useless (sometimes it's useless) information.
He's got some great recipes, and adds some education in there so you know why you are doing what you're doing. Very practical too. Try out his pickle recipe.
