Wait a minute, a Simpson's game that's actually good?

Yes, this one is a lot of fun, good driving, fun adventures and extras and side-missions. And of course voiced by our favorite people, I would expect no less.

It is homage to GTA, but that's okay, it works out well for this cast, and I thought some of the races got somewhat challenging as the game went on. I thought about trying to get 100%, but then I thought, "Nah."

I like this one for a few reasons, and here they are in no particular order:

1) Takes place in the past when things were simpler in Xanth
2) Jordin's power is cool, and is used quite well in this story
3) I am horrible at guessing what will happen in books
4) A switch you say?
5) Just your standard adventurer fare, as told by our narrator, Jordin the Barbarian.

But, how will it end....?

Nimby

I wasn't too excited when I went to read this one, I totally judge books by their covers. Literally.

But after finishing this book, I found it to be one of my favorites of the series. It could be who the main character is and his "infinite" powers (although limited in this form). Maybe it's Chlorine and her rise from nothingness? Or it's the Mundanian family that's accidentally arrived and handles the magic well. I think I wanted to be traveling along with them.

Gang gets together to save the day, there you go.

Not that I'm ruining anything, you knew it would happen, but it's those last several pages that just get me...

As usual with the Xanth series, there's a love story, wait, there are several love stories in this one?

No way....

Red and 3-D?

I like Wario, he's pretty cool, and this was an interesting, if not challenging game in 3-D (sort of). Typical adventure of the Mario-Wario kind, run around and jump on things, although I think looking at all that black and red might have made me feel angry. I think I sold my V-Boy.

Actually, I don't think I've ever met anyone in person that had a virtual boy, that or it never came up in casual conversation.

Soap Opera?

It's taken me a little while to get used to this one after playing X and X-2 so much. This one seems to be more "serious" and "dramatic" with all its politics and betrayals and such while the previous were light and fantasy-y (yeah, that's a word in my dictionary).

Of course the graphics are amazing and the overall look of the game is great. There's plenty to run around and do, side missions and all. You can run around to try and kill stuff or explore whatever you want but you are (sort of) forced into the missions because you have to lvl up and upgrade weapons, armor, etc, or you will be killed.

Quickly.

As I said, at first I was "eh" about it but now I can't stop playing! I think I have plenty of game left to do, and I may try and cover the entire license board (or so I think). So much to do and so little time...

The music is a little cheesy for my tastes. But still a 10.

Spoiler free review

First review? Alrighty.

Went to a full house show of the 3rd PotC, and it's one heck of an action packed adventure. It's darker than the previous one, lots of random characters gettin the sword, and just the overall tone of the film. I do have to agree with the critics in that there were some elements that were confusing, there are a few things that seemed odd and unexplained, but I'll see it again, hoping that they'll be cleared up. You have to see it on the big screen for the amazing effects and battles, and there are plenty of twists and turns as each character tries to fill their own agenda.

It's tough to talk about the movie without giving away anything, so go and see it before someone lets slip what happens...

And definitely stay after the credits...

Ogre

Out of the twenty-something Xanth books I've read over the years, this is my favorite.

I've gone through it several times (read the thing in a day the first time), and I'm not all that sure why. These always have a love story, which is nice, and the hero (or heroine). Plus, Smash is an Ogre, which means super-strength, and that just has appeal to me.

I guess I won't write a summary of the book, you can always read the back cover, but I like these because I get lost in them, and lost I do.

Bink

This is the book that started it all for me, this series that is: Xanth.

Long story short: Bink is getting kicked out of Xanth for not being able to show his magic talent to the Storm King, meets some characters along the way through his magical home and goes to Mundania (the no magic land). But, through odd circumstances, he gets back in, and uh oh...

A Spell is interesting, because if you continue on in the series, things get more complicated and this book was simpler and more primitive times. Sometimes that makes the earlier books more enjoyable. Many, many, many puns in here.

Good luck figuring out what Bink's talent is, until the end of course...

He murdered death

This is the start of one of my fav authors Incarnations series, and it's the best of the series imho.

This guy goes and accidentally kills death, and he has to take over the job. So, that means he has to learn the ropes from the rest of the incarnations who give him some tips, but it ain't easy being the ol soul collector.

Neat premise, and I just like Piers' writing style, good times.

This is practically the Bible of anatomy books for those of us in need of memorizing random body parts.

I've spent many days staring at these pictures, and with the beautiful artistry here, it's not a bad thing to do for hours at a time.

Although, you may find out later that the human body is not as nicely individually colored as in these pictures...
